The FEIH Junior Board invites you to join us for our second fundraising event of 2020. Given COVID-19 restrictions we are taking all precautions and will be hosting a HIIT fitness class virtually via Zoom on Saturday, September 26th from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Early bird ticket rates will end on September 18.

Can’t make the event? Donations of any size make a
difference and are greatly appreciated!

1. What does HIIT mean and what kind of workout is it?

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. HIIT is a form of interval training, a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods.

2. What time does the class start?

Class will start promptly at 11:30 a.m. If this is your first time using Zoom we suggest signing on 5-10 minutes early to ensure you are ready to go at class time.

3. Do I need a Zoom account to attend the class?

No you do not need a zoom account. However, if you have one make sure to log-in prior to trying to access the meeting. It is free to create an account, takes a quick few seconds and can make for an easier sign in process.

4. Is this workout suitable to all fitness levels?

Yes! While HIIT is an intense exercise format, you can move at your own pace! Our host instructor, Kristie has plenty of experience with first timers.

5. Do I need any workout equipment?

No equipment needed. We suggest having some water and a towel nearby… things tend to get sweaty!

6. What should I wear on the day of class?

Athletic attire and sneakers.

7. Can you tell me a little bit about the instructor?

Yes! Kristie Alicea, a native New Yorker, brings a multi-hyphenated background of movement and wellness. Growing up a dancer and a swimmer, Kristie pursued a career as a professional dancer after college. After leaving the world of dance and acknowledging that she is a natural born mover, she gained expertise in personal and group training at large wellness brands such as Gold’s Gym, New York Sports Club, Equinox and Barre3, bringing with her a well versed approach to movement and wellness. She created a new HIIT fitness concept called BEAST Fitness Evolved in Brooklyn where she managed, created and maintained the training program. Kristie currently still works as a Personal Trainer in Manhattan and Brooklyn and her training style can best be described as holistic in nature and goal oriented by design. She currently teaches live class with a mix of modalities including HIIT, cardio sculpt and her barre method.

8. If multiple people will be together taking the class, do we need to purchase more than one ticket?

Yes, we ask that if you will have multiple people taking the class in the same room/space/area that you purchase a ticket for each participant!

9. What if I missed the class, will there be a recording?

No problem! Yes, we will have a recording available for anyone who cannot make the class at the scheduled time. You must purchase a ticket to receive the recording and it will be sent via email after class.

10. What is “Fit With FEIH” all about?

Fit With FEIH is a fundraising series of workout events planned for the 2020 calendar year. Exercise and fitness is another way that we can come together (in-person and virtually) for a cause outside of the routine happy hours and dinners. Plus, work out classes are fun!

11. How will FEIH use my donation?

FEIH invests the money we raise into school construction and educational programs to build sustainable, community-owned education projects in high-need areas of rural Honduras. We have constructed thirteen schools to date and impacted an estimated 50,000 lives. Our team works closely with each community and project to ensure that every dollar is accounted for. In short, by attending this class, you are changing lives!

12. Where can I get more information?

You can reach out to Trudy Smith at tsmith@feih.org if you have any additional questions!
